Dr. Kumar enjoys all aspects of practicing internal medicine; managing common, as well as complex, medical conditions in primary care practice; with a strong focus on preventive care. He is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine 2006, recertified 2016. Dr. Kumar is an Internal Medical physician at the Lenexa East location. He is fluent in English and Hindi.
Dr. Kumar is originally from India, where he graduated from the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in 1996, and obtained his postgraduate degree at PGIMER, Chandigarh. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2006. After residency, he worked as a hospitalist at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO, taking care of inpatients, and returned back to Kansas City in 2012 joining St. Luke’s hospital in Kansas City, MO. In 2015 Dr. Kumar decided to focus on outpatient primary care medicine and practiced outpatient primary care internal medicine at the adult medicine clinic at Swope Health Services in Kansas City, MO until 2021, when he joined our group. He has 2 children and enjoys music, reading and traveling.
