I dreamed of becoming a physician from the age of five years old. On this journey, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and minor in Journalism from the University of Central Missouri. I then chose to attend Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB) to become an osteopathic physician. In 2009, I completed a residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital and joined Heartland Primary Care as a pediatrician at the Lenexa West location. I am also board certified in general pediatrics. I love watching children grow and helping parents care for their kids from birth to young adulthood. I feel parents are the most important team member in the diagnosis and treatment of their children. It is my privilege to be such an intimate part of my patients’ families. I am also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and participate in volunteer work in the community. My husband Travis and I enjoy working and playing outside at our home in rural Leavenworth County. Our daughter Erin was born in 2012 and our son Micah was born in 2014. Micah has significant medical needs due to a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Because of these two, life has brought us so much more learning and joy than we would have ever imagined.
